You can put your site on there though… That is what web crawlers are for.

In your website make sure the appropriate meta tags are included, this will also increase the chances of your site coming up.

I’m trying to build a website that will be an online shopping search engine that will search only products from sites that I specify. I’m having a really hard time finding any search engine software that searches the products specifically. Can someone help? Thank you…

The reason why you find it hard to find ANY search engines that can do that is simple… ALL sites are different and only SOME provide standard methods to search/query their content… So it IS IMPOSSIBLE to find single search engine that will allow you to query ANY site because of the different data formats and access types…

You can TRY (but will most likely fail) to build a search engine that will process ANY type of results (HTML, XML, webservice and few other possibilities), but it will be difficult and expensive…
The best way will be to concentrate on sites that CAN provide uniform results format (in XML)…
