You know how important it is to display good, quality content on your web pages; that is how the search engines find your site and your store pages and all the SEO wizardry aside, content is what will ultimately determine the ranking of your pages. Coming up with all that text, however, is difficult. You have an idea about your products and what to say about them, but because these are your products, your thinking may be biased or skewed. What you write may or may not provide the information necessary for your potential customers to make a purchase decision. So why not let them ask you the questions? Enters our Q&A template add-on! When we install this template in your yahoo store, each of your products will have a questions-and-answers field, where you can enter the frequently asked questions relevant to that product. Entering the questions and answers is very simple: you simply type one question in the field, then a blank line, then the corresponding answer, then a blank line, the next question, blank line, answer, etc. The template will then automatically format the questions and the answers into a neat, easy to follow structure. Below the questions and answers is a link that let your visitors open a question form and submit a question about that item if something is still not clear to them. You receive the question via email; you can then simply reply to the email, and then, go to that product in the Yahoo Store editor, and add copy and paste the new question and the answer into the “questions-and-answer” field. It is that simple. Not only do you find out what your potential customers are interested in, but at the same time you also generate new and good content for your product pages.
My web site www.absolutebrilliance.com.au I have designed and tweaked myself with various key words and have had reasonable success gaining listings in Google, Yahoo and NineMSN Search results but I really have fluked it I think because I have a limited understanding of what the criteria is and i’m not sure if I am attracting better results or getting disapproving rankings from the search engines. I especially have no idea how to get images to show up on google image search. Are there any good samaritans out there that would take a quick look at my site and impart some words of the wise? Any help would be greatly appreciated

If you own a small business and a web site, you know you’re facing a lot of competition. In order to increase traffic to your site and therefore gain more sales, you need to stand out from the crowd. This can be accomplished, even on a shoestring budget. Here we provide several pointers to get your business profitable and thriving, which are applicable to both new and existing small business web sites.
While you’re probably aware of the importance of search engine rankings, it’s still worth a mention. Be aware that 75% of all searches are conducted through Google. This being the case, you’ll want to give particular attention to what increases your rankings for your business web design of course, getting on page one is your ultimate goal. Google provides articles and FAQs to give you guidance, so take a look.
While the big name corporations seem to adhere to the plain Jane, two-color design, as a small business, you’re better off with a small business web design that creates visual excitement for your visitors. This doesn’t translate to a cluttered, too-busy look. Your logo design should be simple but memorable. Images relevant to the content on each page serve to highlight and enhance the information you’re presenting. Your page layout should be consistent, with ad placement, content and other elements in the same general area of every page.
As for content, this is the biggie. You want plenty of it, providing valuable, quality information your visitors can use and won’t be likely to find elsewhere. The idea here is to establish yourself as an expert in your field. Another way to use content to bring new traffic to your site is to submit some of your better pieces to reputable directories with a large readership. The directories allow you to include a byline, with a link to your site.
Do your research on keywords! Even with quality content, if you don’t use the right keywords, you’ll lose in your search engine rankings. Instead of gaining the coveted page one entry, you may end up on page 10! Statistics indicate most searchers don’t go beyond page two of the search results. Check out the Wordtracker keyword research tool. Most people swear by the results they obtain with this tool. Finding and using the right keywords for your business niche is one of the most effective elements of your business web design plan, so don’t neglect this one.
When you’re working out your plan for your business web design, consider adding a free newsletter. (If you don’t know how to get a newsletter going, there are plenty of free tutorials and templates to guide you through the process.) Before you publish your newsletter, decide on a schedule you can commit to a bi-weekly newsletter is manageable for most small businesses and keeps your site in your reader’s minds.
If you do decide to offer a newsletter, place your offer in a prominent (and same) location on every page. Building an email list is an important element of the successful business web design. In addition to feature articles published in your newsletter, you may want to offer articles to other newsletters for businesses outside of your niche, but in a related field, further increasing your exposure to the world.
When you have some spare time, work on a downloadable ebook or special report, which, when completed, you offer at no cost to interested visitors.
When launching or revamping your web site, a resource page of links to information is a must. This is also a good place to include affiliate links to quality products, which gives you some commission income as well.
As time permits, there are even more ways to enhance and expand your business web design. Think about adding a blog, message board or forum for your visitors.
If you implement all of these elements, you’ll soon reap the benefits. Watch your traffic and income grow!

In most cases, whenever you come across a banner on the web, it will likely have been developed using flash software. The versatility of the flash software makes it one of the third party software products that seem to have been adapted and included into all browsers today. Flash has been adapted, not only in banner development and other web applications, but also in the making of flash games. What makes flash so universal that most software vendors include it into their other software products or support it? What is the future of the flash platform for more improved browsers and web platforms?
One of the things that make the flash software a choice for many is because it comes with its own programming language called ActionScript. This powerful language makes the development of flash applications easy and allows it to be integrated into existing platforms or made to interact with other applications created with different programming languages. In fact, ActionScript shares a certain similarity with languages like Java and has incorporated a lot of Java syntax into its own construct. ActionScript is about 90 percent Java, so to a Java developer, learning ActionScript will just be a walkthrough.
On a broader scale, flash software can also be used to make complete websites using flash. In most cases however, developers try to avoid this due to the fact that flash websites can quickly become heavy and thus provide a poor performance for visitors especially with those who have low bandwidth. On the other hand, a flash website allows for a lot of creativity and with the right developer at the wheel, spectacular graphical displays can be developed. Virtually, anything can be done with flash; what counts is the creativity of the developer and his or her skills to use the flash software to accomplish this.
Before you can create flash websites, you need to first install the flash software. Presently, the CS4 version is on the market and allows for complex web development using the ActionScript program. In order to become proficient in using flash, it is almost a requisite to learn the ActionScript programming language. While it is still possible to use the graphical interface, there are a lot of functions that just cannot be brought to life unless they are written down as code. ActionScript code is relatively easy to learn. Check out the many websites that offer tutorials on how to code using the language. You will be surprised how fast and easy it can be to build your first banner and website in flash.
I have tried some SEO techniques and link exchanges, but my web traffic is still very low. Someone told me they used to buy visitors for there web site. Does anyone know how this works and where to go to do this?
Good News & Bad News. Good news is that buying visitors for your web site is actually pretty cheap. You can usually get 1000 visitors for as little as $3. Bad news is that if you are selling a product, the traffic does not convert as well as other means of getting visitors to your site. However, I use this method to regularly get traffic to my sites and find it to be fairly profitable. I think it depends on where you get the traffic from (some providers are better than others). I use http://www.buy-site-traffic.com because they offer options that let me accurately target which visitors I want them to send me.
For example, I sell a product that earns me $20 for each sell. The traffic I buy only converts at a rate of about .5% (pretty low). However, that means I usually get 4 or 5 sales for every 1000 visitors I buy giving be a nice $77 to $97 profit. Not too shabby. If you sell a product, then I think you will be able to make some decent money using this approach.

I’ve been selling knit creations to my friends, co-workers, and acquaintances for years now. I’ve been skilled at knitting ever since I was young, and am happy to be able to channel my hobby into a source of steady income. Recently, a close friend of mine has been hounding me to open up a virtual store to expand my sales base. At first, I wasn’t so sure about doing something like that because I had no idea what type of expenses or time commitment would be involved. After all, I have a regular job and a family to take care of, so my free time is limited as it is. But after weighing the pros and cons, I decided to give it a try.
One of the first items on my agenda is to hire a professional web designer because there is simply no way I would be able to develop an entire website all on my own. I know nothing about HTML or the process of setting up a site, and don’t really feel like spending a few months to learn. Even if I did read a book or two and take a class, I would still be a beginner and would likely make lots of novice mistakes. It would be much easier to just pay for a professional web designer to come in and handle everything.
I’m not exactly sure about all the features I want in my online store, but thinking about virtual shopping experiences from the point of a consumer, I definitely need the store to look good and be easy to navigate. I’m sure I can find a professional web designer that specializes in e-commerce sites to make this happen for me.
Once I get a professional web designer lined up, then I can focus on finding the best shopping cart software to handle all the transactions that will hopefully take place on the site. I think this is just as important an aspect to having an online store as the site design, because if the behind-the-scenes stuff doesn’t function properly, then the relatively superficial things like looks won’t matter one bit. I want my customers to have a pleasant, hassle-free experience on my site, which will increase the likelihood of them coming back again and again.
After the professional web designer and shopping cart software, I’ll have to post some pictures and descriptions of the products I want to sell. This is the part I can take care of on my own, so it ought to be the least troublesome aspect of the entire process.
Now that my plans for opening a virtual storefront are taking shape, I’m becoming more excited by the day. I can’t believe all that’s standing in my way right now is hiring a professional web designer and buying some shopping cart software. And who knows, if my knitted products start selling like crazy, I might be able to quit my job and do this full-time. That would be a dream come true!
